Last Saturday, I met my mom at her cozy little office in Polo, IL to work on both of our businesses. We had so much fun together: sharing ideas, asking questions, and jotting down notes. Here are a few things we worked on:

• Social media content ideas
• Fun, new ideas for marketing promotions
• Rolling my 401(k) over into an IRA
• A quiz to determine the amount of risk I’m willing to make with my investments

It wasn’t all work, though. We ended the day with some tacos from an authentic Mexican restaurant called Esmeralda’s, and shared some Pinterest inspiration as we both are in the process of redecorating our homes. It was so much fun, and I’m hoping to make this a super short and sweet series on my blog! This is something my mom and I would like to do once or twice per month.

Also, check out this super cute coffee bar my mom and her employees created for their customers. They had custom “VIP” mugs made, so when customers come into the office, they can enjoy their choice of a coffee, tea, or hot cocoa k-cup  🙂 It’s all about making your customers feel welcome and like a “VIP”!

I’m so thankful that my mom is not only one of my best friends, but also my business coach.
