Podcasts have a special place in my heart. I LOVE reading and researching through blog posts and video tutorials, but podcasts are amazing because they allow you to multitask! On extra busy days where I don’t seem to take the time to sit down and read a book, a podcast is a perfect way for me to continue learning and pursuing personal development because I can listen while I’m in the shower, doing laundry, driving, etc. I listened to podcasts CONSTANTLY when I was still working at my 9-5 and had about a 1-hour commute every day.
So, I wanted to tell you about a few of my favorites that I listen to on the regular! And if you know me, you know I have a lot of different passions, so these podcast recommendations may seem a little all over the place, but I think it’s great to have some that make you laugh, some that give you a gut punch, some that encourage you, and some that TEACH you something (or all of the above!)
Here goes…
The Skinny Confidential Him + Her Show – for beauty and wellness tips, branding and marketing advice, mindset training, and the occasional laugh. This husband and wife duo is a powerhouse, and they know their stuff when it comes to branding and business. Lauren is like a real-life version of Barbie, but there’s so much more to her than her looks. They’re fun and they’re not afraid to talk about taboo topics from time to time.
The Ed Mylett Show – for inspiring stories, tough love, and motivation to chase after your dreams. Ed has a very deep voice, but it’s super calm and soothing. I think as a fairly soft-spoken person, I connect to other people who are soft-spoken or just have a voice that’s calming and easy to listen to. I tend to shut down around extremely LOUD, outspoken people but that’s just me. 🤷🏽♀️Also, he has some SUPER impressive guests on his show. It’s no wonder it’s at the top of the podcast charts week in and week out.
The Robbie Page Podcast – for a quick dose of inspiration and REAL-LIFE chats between her assistant, business coach, and other fun guests. Robbie has built some AMAZING businesses – in network marketing companies and through her own business + life coaching. I love Robbie’s podcast because just like Ed’s, her voice is very soothing to me. Also, her podcast is super raw and unedited, which I love. Half the time, she’s talking to her kids in the background 🤣, or it’s just a real conversation between her and a guest, and you feel like you’re just listening in on a casual conversation.
The MFCEO Project – for TOUGH LOVE and those moments where you need a good gut punch to get back into gear. Note: this isn’t for everybody.🙂 I don’t listen to this every day or even every week, but it’s one of my go-to’s when I feel like I’m in a rut and need someone to remind me to be strong and brave and get things done.
Off the Vine with Kaitlyn Bristowe – for laughs, talks about body positivity, mental health and wellness, country music stars, reality television stars (which I don’t watch but I still enjoy listening to podcasts about it for some reason?), and a reminder/excuse to treat yourself to a glass of wine or two every now and then. 🍷Kaitlyn inspires me because she’s SUCH a goofball and her energy is infectious.
The GaryVee Audio Experience – for social media, branding, and business advice. And TOUGH LOVE. A lot of his podcast episodes are repurposed content from seminars or meetings, which I like because it makes me feel like I’m “behind-the-scenes” or just sitting in on a conversation.
The Dave Ramsey Show – for budgeting and finance tips. I love Dave’s show because people just call in and ask Dave for advice. There’s something about a call-in show that makes a podcast super intriguing because you’re hearing Dave’s unplanned/unscripted advice to real-life people with real-life struggles.
The Salvaged Soul Podcast – for network marketing tips and advice. Christa, the host of this show, can be super blunt and isn’t afraid to tell it like it is. She has seen tons of success with two different businesses and shares her advice in doing so. She also has had some awesome guests on the show so far, and she just got started with her podcast a few months ago!
The Goal Digger Podcast – This has been a TOP podcast for years and it’s no secret why. Jenna Kutcher has built an amazing brand for herself through photography, marketing courses, and now, running a super successful business WHILE being a new mom. She shares tons of marketing and social media tips, but the episodes I really love are the more casual chats between her and a guest she brings on her show.
Often Ambitious – I’m actually partnered with the two hosts of this podcast on a secondary business I’ve been talking about on my Instagram Stories! Erika and Lindsey are just so fun, badass businesswomen, and they’re #bestiegoals.
This list kind of makes me laugh because I’m telling you… the styles of each of these podcasts hosts are TOTALLY across the board. There are a few I would stray away from if you’re listening around kiddos or if you don’t like foul language (no judgment). Podcasts that tend to have some “tough love” and some choice words in them include the MFCEO Project and the GaryVee Audio Experience. I tend to think a well-placed cuss word can help get the point across and grab your attention, but it’s not for everyone.🤷🏽♀️ 🤣 These are my tough love, need a good gut punch, “DO WORK” type of podcasts for sure.
Chances are, you’re not going to love all of these, but I hope you at least find 1-2 podcasts out of this list that are helpful for you!
I ALWAYS love trying out a new podcast, because sometimes I get sick of the same topics over and over again. I’d love if you would leave me your favorite podcast in the comments below so I can check it out!
